Bonniefollett.com - Messages to the World - My Soapbox: On Peace... Peace is possible. Stop the murder. Make room for respect. Make room for honesty. Make room for the existence of others. Stop the killing now and start talking. Peaceful solutions do exist. They will only be found through meaninful discourse. And meaninful discourse can only take place when we are willing to learn that which we do not know and attempt to understand that which we do not understand., and suspend our own greed. |

On the Environment... You think our water, air, ozone layer, wildlife and lands are not in trouble? Who are you kidding? We must encourage and support all efforts to save and purify our environment. This earth is the platform for our existence and the existence of future generations. We cannot continue to shrug off our duty to maintain it in good order. Watch the news and you will notice that the increased problems with weather, disease, toxification and loss of habitat will only intensify with time, unless we take action now. We do not have 100 years to do this. We may only have 20 or 30 years before the way of life we viewed as our right becomes a thing of the past. |

On Modern Life... I often see myself and others so concerned and fixated on our daily routines, that we do not pay attention to the state of our world, or even our own personal lives, relationships and children. Once in awhile we all need to stop and step back long enough to take a good inventory of our lives, personal purposes and goals. And we should not feel guilt when we take whatever time is necessary to rejuvenate and to keep in touch with more than simply what we must do to bring home a paycheck. Life is about people, not only our work friends and associates but also everyone else in our lives. Strive for a balance. |

On ART... Art is the expression of ideas we have on our world and our lives... past, present and future. Art is constantly evolving and what we think of as art is changing rapidly in our modern world. Art as communication has evolved in a world of rapid communications. The paintings and sculpture once painstakingly prepared as a record of our world is now to some degree supplanted by more immediate methods of communication. Notice the art you see now in our modern world and nurture efforts still being made towards self-examination, free expression, and independent communication. |
